Read this book if you want to learn more about Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the man who splits history. His birth is what the world celebrates at Christmas. His death & resurrection we celebrate at Easter. He is the most important figure in human history. Almost everybody has an opinion about him - whether positive, negative or indifferent. He has, claims Christians, changed and transformed millions of people down through history who have found him to fulfil their every desire and their search for God.
So many people today, dismiss the claims of Jesus, regard it all as fairy-tales and that he never existed. All the while, relying on hearsay, without exploring documents regarding this most amazing man, Jesus Christ. Come inside and let us explore together this figure of history, Jesus Christ. We will be looking primarily at the Gospel accounts of his life but also looking at the accounts written from those outside the Bible.

Intimacy with God
One of the words that scares a lot of people today, particularly in the Church, is the word "intimacy". Yet, the Christian is in an intimate relationship with God. It is going on in life, developing that relationship and refining the unique bond between God and the Christian. To know that God desires for the person to know Him more and more, should be of great encouragement to the Christian, as they develop their intimacy with God. This intimacy with God is not something to be taken for granted. It is for the Christian to work upon and develop.
What do we mean by intimacy with God? Intimacy with God, is where a person, a Christian, is in a dynamic relationship with Him. We can enter into this intimacy only because of the intimacy that Jesus Christ has with God the Father. We can enter into this intimacy because as Christians, we are covered and sheltered by Jesus' robe of righteousness. No other religion can claim this. It is a feature unique to Christianity. This relationship is developed through a devotional life, where the Christian is being transformed to the glory of God, evidenced by their living their life in direct obedient submission to God, in all facets of life. That means the use of time, money, energy along with prayer, worship, Bible Study, and other activities that are done in private rather than with other people.
Inside we look together at an intimate God who has spoken, the Christian developing skills of intimacy in listening to God, talking to Him and the outworking of that intimacy in all aspects of the Christian life. There is also an opportunity for you to creatively "give it a go" for 40 days, putting into practise what you have learnt afresh or been reminded of. Come on in!

Review 1: "I received my books this week and I was very impressed with the layout of it. The illustrations and colours chosen, make the words come to life as you read it. I was captured with how well the writer has explained this age old prayer in modern day simple language. It's a great book that I believe will appeal to all ages and walks of life and the illustrations not only capture children's interest, but they actually help adults to understand what all the different parts of The Lord's Prayer actually means . I would by more books explaining the bible done in this way most definitely."
Review 2: "This book has everything anyone who loves God & wants to learn more of the Bible, the illustrations are clear & concise, matching the text opposite exactly. The font of the text is clear well-spaced & easy to read. The book appeals to both adults & children, an added bonus is it's perfect format for anyone with learning disabilities.
The content of the book is very scripturally sound, & has helped me a Christian of many years to understand more about the Lord Prayer & of its importance in our Christian lives."
Review 3: "I absolutely love this book! The font is so clear and easy to read, being large and double spaced, with fantastic original graphics that help aid understanding for children and adults alike, and aid re-telling too. Perfect for a Sunday School lesson, or even a whole series of lessons.
Also great as a gift for families whose children attend the Sunday School to make learning the Lord's prayer easier to remember and fun to learn at home. Is great for adults with learning difficulties. Going to suggest buying some for a literacy class. I don't like cat's usually, but I love Alphy! Go on, buy it, you won't be disappointed!"

Exploring Islam with David Combes
The media can deliver much of our experience and understanding of the Islamic faith from far reaching locations across the world. However, the tragedy of this is for most us who do not know Muslims personally, we commonly paint them with the same brush, assume that they are all ‘out to get us’ or seem so different and unknown that we avoid them.
This little book attempts to fill in some potential gaps and maybe even correct some misunderstandings concering Islam, all done in the spirit that ‘loving our neighbour’ includes those of a different faith or ethnic origin.
Here is what 3 reviewers said:
Review 1: There are plenty of lengthy books about Islam, and about the contrasts and comparisons with Christian beliefs, but this is a refreshingly short and informative book. I found the key verses helpful to read and I enjoyed the section about the history of Islam. David's passion and heart for Muslim people comes through the book and I would recommend this as introductory reading for anyone who is interested in learning more.
Review 2: Exploring Islam is a fantastic little book. The Ideal introductory book for any Christian who wants to learn about the complex world of Islam. Exploring Islam lays out the fundamental doctrines of Islam, as well as noting similarities and differences between the two faiths in an easy to read concise format. Great work!
Review 3: At first I was reluctant to read this book, felt why should I learn about Islam, I enjoyed the book helped me to understand the Muslims I meet.

Dear Christian - Get a good grip
The book we are looking at this week, is Dear Christian - Get a good grip: Basic studies about God and following Him.
Here is what one reviewer said:
Down to Earth and packs all the punches we need to get a grip on what's important! Excellent series of books. Highly recommended.
Are you a Christian Disciple? Fabulous! How well do you know the God you follow? God has a grip on you, but how good is your grip on Him? Are you holding on to Him by just your fingernails? Or do you have a good firm grip on His hand, just as a baby grips onto the hand of their father? As Christian Disciples, we are only just beginning to know what it means that God became human. When on that moment the holy & sinless God, chose to enter human history and became man. Why? So that humans could choose for themselves to be in a relationship with God or not, accepting freely that they are ransomed, healed, restored and forgiven.
Yet in our modern Western Civilisation, the Church in places has forgotten this. It is time for the Church to once again go back to basics, to be reminded of them if necessary, to get their collective hands dirty and echo the God they claim to follow. Are you ready to learn not just about God but also why?
In these studies we look together at:
- Why Study God?
- Who is God?
- God as Trinity
- God the Father
- God the Son
- God the Holy Spirit
- God, Humans and Life
- A Tale of 4 Disciples
- What is a Disciple?
- Goal of a Disciple
- Living as a Disciple
- Growing as a Disciple
- The Cross and the Disciple

Exploring The Bible
Have you ever noticed the first thing a baby does when it is born? It cries! The crying shows that it is alive. Or how about when it needs help? It cries, wanting attention. A baby crying is symbolic of humanity's need of God and life with Him. That is the message of the Bible. The Bible also shows how God has intervened in human history - by becoming one of us and getting His hands dirty! WOW!
That is the message of Christmas and Easter! What is the best way to learn about God and follow Him? It is by reading the Bible regularly. Now, admittedly, this can lead to confusion! However, help is at hand within the pages of this little book. Christians think that through the Bible, God has spoken to our world because He loves this world which He made.
Written over a period of about 1,500 years by people of different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds, the Bible has a central message: God is love. Come inside and spend a short time each day, working your way through each book of the Bible, to see the development of this love. After all, it is the story of God & humanity. It is a story of ancient beginnings through to new beginnings! Are you ready? Come on in!
As well as looking at each book of the Bible, there is also a study guide looking at best practise to interacting with the Bible. In this section, we look at how God speaks through the Bible, some keys to understanding the Bible, how the Bible helps equips you for service, helps you to know God better and to discover His will for you, as one of His children...
