PT06-HTFC.jpg

Welcome to this little book, where together we will explore some details about who I call, the Forgotten Church. Not forgotten by God but generally by the Church itself.

Who are the forgotten Church? In every community, there are people who want to attend Church, be involved in a Church, and yet for what ever reason, they are unable to. The reasons may include the demands of work. debilitating illness, having to care for others or due to geographical isolation. This little book explores how we can help these people to enjoy and participate in an interactive Church worship service. All at a time and place which is convenient for them. After all, you may one day be in need of such help, if indeed you are not already.

This is what we will explore together in this book:

  • Who are the Forgotten Church?
  • Why help the Forgotten Church?
  • Where can you help the Forgotten Church?
  • What Can A Sample Church Service for the Forgotten Church look like?
  • How Else can you help them use their gifts and talents?
  • Some Guidelines

Whether you are somebody who is part of what I call the "forgotten Church" or you want to help somebody who is, there is something inside for you to either learn afresh or be reminded of. Come on in!

Exploring The Bible

PT08-EB.jpg

Have you ever noticed the first thing a baby does when it is born? It cries! The crying shows that it is alive. Or how about when it needs help? It cries, wanting attention. A baby crying is symbolic of humanity's need of God and life with Him. That is the message of the Bible. The Bible also shows how God has intervened in human history - by becoming one of us and getting His hands dirty! WOW!

That is the message of Christmas and Easter! What is the best way to learn about God and follow Him? It is by reading the Bible regularly. Now, admittedly, this can lead to confusion! However, help is at hand within the pages of this little book. Christians think that through the Bible, God has spoken to our world because He loves this world which He made.

Written over a period of about 1,500 years by people of different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds, the Bible has a central message: God is love. Come inside and spend a short time each day, working your way through each book of the Bible, to see the development of this love. After all, it is the story of God & humanity. It is a story of ancient beginnings through to new beginnings! Are you ready? Come on in!

As well as looking at each book of the Bible, there is also a study guide looking at best practise to interacting with the Bible. In this section, we look at how God speaks through the Bible, some keys to understanding the Bible, how the Bible helps equips you for service, helps you to know God better and to discover His will for you, as one of His children...

Here is what one 5* Amazon Review said:

This is the best book I have read for a simple straightforward analysis of what the Bible is all about. It gives a clear breakdown of the different sections of both Old and New Testament for those who are seeking enlightenment on what the Christian faith bases its teaching. There are just enough Scripture references to whet the appetite for more. Also for the believer whose Bible knowledge has always been, or through lack of regular study has become bit sketchy, there is help. There is also ample space throughout for the reader to express their own thoughts and reflections. Highly recommendable reading.

An Ambassador in God's Orchestra of Joy

PT10-GA.jpg

An Ambassador is an official and accredited representative of their own sovereign state to another place or country. The Ambassador speaks not for themselves but represents the ideals, thoughts and actions of the one who sent them and with their authority. All Christians, as Disciples of Jesus Christ, are Ambassadors for Jesus Christ into the world in which we live.

Therefore throughout this book, we use both words, Ambassador and Disciple, in relation to the Christian. As Ambassadors for Jesus Christ, we are to be His representatives here on earth. We are His Church, which is an Orchestra of Joy.The Christian Ambassador has a joyous message to present to people about how people can be reconciled with God. A message to all people, of all nations, of all time, without favouritism or corruption.

As Christian Ambassadors, we are sent by our Lord Jesus Christ, into the world, in order to live our lives for Him and Him alone. Inside this book, we look at 6 main characteristics of the life of the Christian Ambassador:

  1. The Ambassador's Identification
  2. The Ambassador's Message
  3. The Ambassador’s New Life
  4. The Ambassador's Serving Life
  5. The Ambassador’s Devotional Life
  6. The Ambassador's Uncompromising Life

The Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Christian, is God's Ambassador, as exhorted by the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21:

20 We are therefore Christ’s Ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: be reconciled to God. 21 God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

"Read this book to learn more about Jesus Christ"

PT21_New.jpg

Jesus Christ is the man who splits history. His birth is what the world celebrates at Christmas. His death & resurrection we celebrate at Easter. He is the most important figure in human history. Almost everybody has an opinion about him - whether positive, negative or indifferent. He has, claims Christians, changed and transformed millions of people down through history who have found him to fulfil their every desire and their search for God.

So many people today, dismiss the claims of Jesus, regard it all as fairy-tales and that he never existed. All the while, relying on hearsay, without exploring documents regarding this most amazing man, Jesus Christ. Come inside and let us explore together this figure of history, Jesus Christ. We will be looking primarily at the Gospel accounts of his life but also looking at the accounts written from those outside the Bible.

"Read this book if you want to learn more about Jesus Christ" available on Amazon in paperback or Kindle with ISBN: 978-1516802470

Glimpses Into Leviticus

The book we are looking at this week is Glimpses Into Leviticus: a book of Joy. (part of the "Glimpses Into" series)

Leviticus is perhaps the most maligned, misunderstood and under-read book of the Bible today.

Andrew Bonar once said: "There is no book that contains more of the very words of God than Leviticus. It is God that is the direct speaker in almost every page; his gracious words are recorded in the form wherein they were uttered."

How are we to read this amazing book? Leviticus does have important things to tell us about God, sin, obedience and holiness. Perhaps most importantly it tells of God wanting to live with His people. Some of the words and phrases we commonly use in the English language, come straight from the book of Leviticus. Come! Let us glimpse into this marvellous book of the Bible together - Leviticus the book of joy! Why do I call it a book of joy? One reason is that it reveals a God who wants to live with His people. For other reasons, you will have to look inside and read it to discover why!

Here is what 1 Amazon reviewer said: "5 stars! A theological view of Leviticus as opposed to c]the view it is an archaic 'laundry list'. Whether you agree with some of the conclusions or not, it will help you want to delve deeper, think more deeply about this often avoided book."

"Developing Intimacy With God"

PT26-DIWG.jpg

G’day! The book this week is "Developing Intimacy With God: A Little Book of 95 Prayers". Inside this little book, there is something for you to learn afresh or be reminded about, regardless of who you are.

Prayer is to be a sign of intimacy with God as it develops our relationship with Him. Prayer I have discovered, is to be an ongoing conversation with God.

Prayer is how we are energized and invigorated as we strengthen our relationship with Him. God is personal and He loves to hear us and talk to us. Prayers are not just the unprompted and spontaneous variety, but also the written form. Jesus Himself would have said scripted prayers as part of 1st century Jewish worship. In this little book, we have some prayers from the Bible as well as from the Church down through history. They are prayers which I have used in my own life - both personally and corporately.

This book is also as a way to celebrate that moment in time, when on 31 October 1517, Martin Luther, started what we know now as the European Reformation, when he nailed his 95 Theses to the door of Wittenberg Castle. Therefore, in this little book, to celebrate that momentous act in Church History, there are 95 prayers – prayers from Moses through to Martin Luther and onto to John Stott of our own century. Come, Church! Let's pray together!

Whether you have not started the Christian journey yet, you are just starting your journey as a Christian, or have been a Christian for a while, you can either learn afresh or be reminded about the prayer and your Devotional Life. Come on in!

"Developing Intimacy With God: A Little Book of 95 Prayers" available on Amazon in paperback or Kindle with ISBN: 978-1512136838
