Exploring The Bible
62. Old Testament
Deuteronomy 28: 58 - 64
In a series of farewell messages Moses addresses a new generation as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. He takes the opportunity to retell the history of the wanderings of the people emphasising the importance of obedience and the penalties of disobedience.
The book concludes with a warning that if they fail to live righteously in the land they will be exiled – a warning that they do not heed and so will eventually be exiled to Assyria and Babylon.
