Remember
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
I wonder what your ability to remember is like! Perhaps you are like me, and your memory sometimes fails. Sometimes I will think I have remembered something, but it turns out to be a false memory of an event that never occurred. Or other times I will forget to remember something, and then miss out on something important!
As Christians, sometimes we forget who we are! So what should we remember about ourselves, as Christians, if we are one?

All For The Good
Monday Sep 16, 2013
Monday Sep 16, 2013

This week I'd like to tell you about a very special experience I had at Soul Survivor this year...
The speaker invited those who wished to receive the gift of tongues to go forward. I'd always wanted tongues, so I went forward to give it a go. However, I could not have imagined what happened next. I could hear two of my friend's around me beginning to speak in tongues. My eyes were closed and I began to see most of my life re-played including the parts I found distressing. I didn't really want to go there again but then a golden light enveloped me and warmed me and I felt really peaceful. I heard the words: ''I'm here" as each scene unfolded.
Eventually it all faded and I was aware of the people around me, still praying for me. I was quite disappointed that it was over but so glad it had happened. I was crying and shaking with the intensity and yet felt so peaceful that I never wanted the moment to end. Rend Collective were playing 'Build Your Kingdom Here'. I was actually told the whole encounter had lasted about 45 minutes!!!! I truly believe that I had been in God's presence and that He is with me in all the good times and bad.
Blessings
Katy

Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, dead and buried.
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost:
I believe in the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
the forgiveness of sins:
the resurrection of the body:
and the life everlasting.
Amen.

Pauline's Ponderings!
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.” (James 3:9-10)
“Out of the mouth comes the overflow of the heart. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45)
This means if our heart is focused on the things of this world, on ourselves, on material things, that’s what our words will reflect. However, if we drench ourselves in Gods Holy Spirit, if our main focus is on God and what He desires, then what we say will reflect Him and bring Him glory. Obviously we are not perfect, and we will slip up from time to time, particularly if we are stressed. Anybody who has suffered chronic pain will know that "Praise the Lord" isn’t always the first phrase that pops into one’s mind or out of one’s lips!
Of course being in chronic pain or under stress does not give us the licence to swear or be horrible to other people – at these times we need to spend even more time with God, cry out to Him for His help, and acknowledge that we will fail if He doesn’t fill us to overflowing with His Spirit. Do you struggle in this area? Remember to say sorry to God, the minute you slip up and then, put on your robe of righteousness immediately, with thankfulness, and tell Satan to get lost, because he loves to try and make us feel guilty.

God of Love
1 John 4:16 We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
We live in a world that is in love with love. Love, according to some people, is what makes the world go around. In the Bible, God’s love is revealed. The Apostle John in 1 John 4 does not simply say that God loves, but rather that God is love.
How is God love? How is God's love revealed today? How is that relevant to you?

‘Campfire’ by Rend Collective music review
Rating:
5/5 stars
Background Info
Rend Collective Experiment are a Northern Irish Christian Experimental, folk/rock worship band originating from Bangor, Northern Ireland. The band have released 3 albums now, ‘Campfire’ being the most recent (they released ‘Organic Family Hymnal’ in September 2010 and ‘Homemade Worship for Homemade People’ in January 2012). Campfire was released in January this year (2013). They use a wide range of instruments from the Ukulele to the Boadhram!The album starts off with a reflective version of ‘Kumbaya’ as an introduction, to give you a taste of what the album is like, lasting about 30 second. The other songs on the album last a standard 3-4 minutes each. There are songs on the album that are reflective, such as ‘Desert Soul’ (track number 3), ‘You Bled’ (track number 7) and ‘Alabaster’ (track number 8), where you can just allow the music to help you think about worshipping God and these songs provide an intimate link between you and God.
There are also songs that you can sing and dance to, and just let yourself go while listening to them, such as ‘Build Your Kingdom Here’ (track number 3), ‘You Are My Vision’ (track number 5) and ‘Praise Like Fireworks’ (track number 12) where you can enjoy yourself and forget about any worries that you have and just give them to God (I often do this!)
This band boasts expertise in a subtle way, with the way the bands voices blend together, creating a layered effect. The lead singer of the band (Chris Llewellyn) shows masterful control of his voice, using it artfully.
Personal Favourites
- ‘Come on’ (track number 2)
- ‘Desert Soul’ (track number 3)
- ‘Praise Like Fireworks’ (track number 12)
It’s excellent value for a CD and it’s well worth the money and you won’t regret buying it! Thank you for reading my first official blog post, I hope you enjoyed it!

I Cannot Tell
William Y. Fullerton
I cannot tell why He whom angels worship,
Should set His love upon the sons of men,
Or why, as Shepherd, He should seek the wanderers,
To bring them back, they know not how or when.
But this I know, that He was born of Mary
When Bethlehem’s manger was His only home,
And that He lived at Nazareth and labored,
And so the Saviour, Saviour of the world is come.
~~~~~
I cannot tell how silently He suffered,
As with His peace He graced this place of tears,
Or how His heart upon the cross was broken,
The crown of pain to three and thirty years.
But this I know, He heals the brokenhearted,
And stays our sin, and calms our lurking fear,
And lifts the burden from the heavy laden,
For yet the Saviour, Saviour of the world is here.
~~~~~
I cannot tell how He will win the nations,
How He will claim His earthly heritage,
How satisfy the needs and aspirations
Of East and West, of sinner and of sage.
But this I know, all flesh shall see His glory,
And He shall reap the harvest He has sown,
And some glad day His sun shall shine in splendor
When He the Savior, Savior of the world is known.
~~~~~
I cannot tell how all the lands shall worship,
When, at His bidding, every storm is stilled,
Or who can say how great the jubilation
When all the hearts of men with love are filled.
But this I know, the skies will thrill with rapture,
And myriad, myriad human voices sing,
And earth to Heaven, and Heaven to earth, will answer:
At last the Saviour, Saviour of the world is King!
Pauline's Ponderings!
We as Christians are all on a journey - our final destination is the same – to live for ever in close relationship with our God! To be in His presence for eternity without sinning ever again!
1 Peter 3:12-14 “as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.”
We will be free from pain and suffering, we will have new bodies- it’s just going to be amazing. Revelation 21:4 “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Can you imagine it? Have you got a glimpse of heaven in your heart. I personally can’t wait. Paul seems to have the right attitude towards this life and the next. He says in Philippians 3:9-14 “I consider them garbage,(his qualifications as a Jew and a Pharisee) that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
When the worries and cares of this world threaten to overwhelm us we should remember that we are just passing thro’ this is not our home. This always puts things in perspective for me. Why don’t you try it? Next time you feel overwhelmed by the stresses and strains of life on earth just pause and remember Jesus has a mansion in heaven with your name on it.
John 14 :2 gives us this assurance – “In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. “
