Ecclesiastes 2:26 - For to the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who pleases God. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind. Ecclesiastes 12:13 - 14 - This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. 12:14 For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.Summary
The book of Ecclesiastes tells the story of life's emptiness when trying to be happy separate from God. The preacher concludes that life with God leads to true happiness.
