“You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.“ (Titus 2:1)
The word ‘doctrine’ in a lot of places is unfashionable. The words translated as “doctrine” are found frequently in the letters written by Paul, primarily 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. The original words are didache (the act of teaching) and didaskalia (that which is taught) used fifteen times. are translated as doctrine. Doctrine is the study of God, as revealed through the pages of the Bible. Why do Christians need to learn and study doctrine? What does this mean for the Christian? Why does it matter for a Christian to learn and study doctrine regarding the God they follow?
Come and explore what the Bible has to say about the Christian and doctrine and discover why it is part of following Jesus Christ, by downloading and listening to the podcast!

Jesus came and told His Disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make Disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new Disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
We know from the New Testament record, that the sacrament of baptism is commanded for all people who believe in Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38). We also know that it naturally followed after conversion (Acts 2:37; Acts 10:47; Acts 16:33). In this Podcast we explore questions such as What does baptism mean? What is baptism? Who is baptism for? What format should baptism take?
If you have not been baptized and would call yourself a Christian, then we would suggest that if you are able to, you go and ask your church leader about how you can undergo this vital part of Christian life.
Come and explore the topic of Baptism by downloading and listening to the podcast!

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
(Romans 5:1-11)
If you are a Christian, you are blessed! Did you know that? Today we see together from Romans 5:1-11, the blessings that the Christian has because of God's extraordinary love seen through Jesus' death on the cross. Let’s explore these blessings together! Download and listen to the podcast!

“34 ‘A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’”
(John 13:34-35)
Jesus Christ called people to follow him and to be His disciples. He calls people today in the 21st century to be His disciples and follow Him. What were the three primary sources for Christian Discipleship as evidenced in the New Testament? Fundamentally, what is a Christian Disciple? What are the hallmarks of being a Christian Disciple, a disciple of Jesus Christ?
Let’s explore these questions together, download and listen to the podcast!

“25 ‘Know and understand this: from the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven “sevens”, and sixty-two “sevens”. It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two “sevens”, the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: war will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one “seven”. In the middle of the “seven” he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” (Daniel 9:25-27)
Today we are looking at the word “Christ” or as given here by Daniel, "Anointed One". What does the word mean? What association does it have with the Law of Moses and with King Solomon? How did it become associated with Jesus? What do the likes of Paul, Peter and John understand of the word and associating it with Jesus? To discover the answers to those questions and more, download and listen to the podcast!

A Strategy to Cope (Hebrews 3)

I wonder how you have changed over the years. It is almost 40 years now since I first became a Christian and started following Jesus Christ. I haven't fallen away from Him in that time, but I have known some people who have. A question as we start: "How can we, as 21st century Christians, keep from falling away?" Particularly at this time when we have a global pandemic due to the Corona Virus. The answer I believe, is what I would call it the COPE strategy: Consider, Persevere and Encourage.
1. Keep Considering! (Hebrews 3:1-6)
- Moses was cool
- In Comes Jesus
- How is Jesus better than Moses?
- What about us?
2. Keep Persevering! (Hebrews 3:7-12, 15-19)
3. Keep Encouraging! (Hebrews 3:12-14)
Conclusion
If you would call yourself a Christian and you are unsure where you are, then please do look back and remember what Jesus has done for you. Consider Him as you look back to your first profession of faith in Him. Consider that just as He died, you died in the waters of baptism. Consider that just as He rose to physical life, you rose from the waters of baptism and will also rise again when you physically die. Consider that just as Jesus will be glorified, so too will you be glorified before the Father - if you hold out until the end. Be assured of who you are - you are a child of the living God - hold out to the end. He has a firm grip on you, so maintain your grip on Him! Remember who you are! The way to cope with the rigours of 21st century life as a Christian believer is to keep considering, keep persevering and keep encouraging. Thank you...

Christmas 2020 - 12. A Christmas sermon of John Chrysostom

Christmas 2020
12. A Christmas sermon of John Chrysostom (347 – 407
Today we continue our Christmas series with a Christmas sermon of John “Golden Mouth” Chrysostom
Behold a new and wondrous mystery. My ears resound to the Shepherd’s song, piping no soft melody, but chanting full forth a heavenly hymn. The Angels sing. The Archangels blend their voice in harmony. The Cherubim hymn their joyful praise. The Seraphim exalt His glory. All join to praise this holy feast, beholding the Godhead here on earth, and man in heaven. He Who is above, now for our redemption dwells here below; and he that was lowly is by divine mercy raised.
Bethlehem this day resembles heaven; hearing from the stars the singing of angelic voices; and in place of the sun, enfolds within itself on every side, the Son of justice. Ask not how: for where God wills, the order of nature yields. For He willed, He had the power, He descended, He redeemed; all things yielded in obedience to God.
