The book of Psalms, mostly written by King David, tells of the full range of human experience in a very personal and practical way. A lot of the Psalms foretell the coming of the Messiah, not only for Israel but the world. Certainly nearly all of them contain praises to the Lord.

The book fo Job is perhaps the earliest book in the Bible. Set during the time of the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob & Joseph), it is the story of a man who loses everything - his wealth, family & health and wrestles with the question "why?". When Job acknowledges the sovereignty of God in His life, he received everything back that he had lost and even more.

Nehemiah 8:8-9 - They read in the book, in the law of God, distinctly; and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading. Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites who taught the people, said to all the people, "This day is holy to Yahweh your God. Don't mourn, nor weep." For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.Summary
The book of Nehemiah tells of the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem, and about the leading of the third and last return to Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile.
