Place for testimonies about how God has helped people through Virtual church and/or this site…

I love the idea of virtual church. Has anyone here had the experience of praying with friends online from all parts of the globe?
Well, for about 18 months, I’ve been involved with a group of ladies from US, Canada, Italy, Japan, and me in Oz. And then there are others I have contact with from England and US, who are not in the group (due to gender). But I do believe the Lord has brought us together.
It started on Flickr, when a good online friend was gravely ill in hospital. Quite a number of us got together and prayed, and he recovered. Since then this nucleus group have stayed together. And today, I watch and marvel at the friendships that have developed. These ladies are able to share in a way that is not possible for them in their local churches. They have not known the friendships like they have found in the prayer group.
In fact, some have felt alienated from their church in recent times, and are now in the process of looking for another church.
I could say more…

One of my best, long time friends introduced me to some online friends she had met through Flickr and Facebook. She told me of the prayer groups she had become a part of. She also told me of the heart of these people, how they pray when there is a need, and support each other with all kinds of requests, such as our wayward children, grandchildren, husbands, etc, healings, financial helps, and wisdom from God, just to name a few. Jesus said “when two or three are gathered together in my name, there I will be also.” I believe with all my heart that Jesus is with us when we pray online. This is idea is probably not new, but it is to me. To have someone pray for you from across the country or the ocean is awesome! This is definitely for His Glory! They don’t ask for anything in return, just to bring Him Praise, and to be a brother or sister in Christ. Dave, from Partake Ministries has started a Bible Study on Song of Solomon. We share each other’s input and views. It is also helping me with the discipline of reading and studying the Bible. God knows if its left to me I would become lazy, and not study, but we hold each other accountable when asked what we think. When asked my opinion, I sometimes have to look it up in the Bible and see if that’s correct. I am thankful to have gotten to know these people. “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17

Nothing happens quickly in my life, I met Dave on Flickr and he was the first one who wrote something about my pictures and we became friends. I am not sure how all it came to be but little by little I became involved in what he was doing with Partake. I have listened to some of his podcast and I have learned alot from him. He loves the Lord and it comes through in his words. I find that as I listen to his podcast that I want to get the bible out and see where it is that he is talking from or who it is about. I find myself reading Gods word more because of him and what I have listened to. Partake is a great ministry and I feel the Holy Spirits presence in all of the ministry. It is so great that no matter where we live or what we are doing that God is there. Where two or three are gather together in my name I am in their midst. Matthew 18:20 The internet is such a great place to learn about Christ and that is what I am getting from Partake. I am so excited to see what God is doing and going to do in this ministry.
