Almighty God our Father, we lift before you all those injured and killed in these events:

• Baghdad Bombings
• Iran & Pakistan Earthquake
• Boston explosion
• Texas explosion and fire

General Prayer of Comfort

Lord God, from your wellsprings of grace and mercy, hear and answer the words of our mouth and cries of our hearts... Be a comfort for those grieving, surround them in your love and wipe the tears from their eyes... Help those administering aid, counsel and support... Amen!

Time for you to give prayer to God

Closing Prayer

O Father!

We ask all these things,

through the majestic name of Your Son, Jesus Christ

and in the power of the Holy Spirit who lives inside us!

Heaven

John 14:1-4 (New International Version) - "‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.’"

What is heaven like? People, both believers and non-believers have an opinion about Heaven! To some its where everybody will meet up after death providing they weren’t too bad in this earthly life! The caricature of the comedians is that heaven will be floating around on clouds and playing a harp! So what does the Bible, the foundation for all serious Christian thought, have to say about heaven?

• Physical Place
• Characteristics
• Who?
• Christian Attitude
• Prepared Place
• Pure Place

What does this mean now? : All this doesn’t mean you are not to be so heavenly minded, that you are of no earthly use. Rather, you are not to be so earth bound, that you are not tied to Jesus in your eternal home – heaven! Won’t you tell somebody today, about heaven and how they can get there with you?

Apostles Creed

Evangelism

This week, Alphy shares about evangelism - telling others about, and showing, Jesus! WOW!

You are called to evangelise!

While you may not be called to be an evangelist (Ephesians 4:11), you are called to do the work of an evangelist (2 Timothy 4:5). In Jesus’ last words on earth, His church was commanded to be witnesses for Him (Acts 1:8). You are a member of that church, and as a part of the Church, you are included in the way God has chosen to spread His message of reconciliation (Acts 4:12; 2 Peter 3:9). Remember Paul’s words from Romans 10:14-15: “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

What is evangelism?

Why evangelise?

Friday Prayers

G'day and welcome to Partakers! Today, once more, we are continuing to  pray for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani being held in Lakan Prison in Rasht, Iran! He has been imprisoned since October 2009 and on July 8, will have been imprisoned for 1,026 days. For those late to the story, Pastor Nadarkhani is under constant pressure from Iranian Authorities to convert to Islam! Keep praying! This will be reposted very Friday until Pastor Nadarkhani is released, so please return and pray for him, his family and the persecuted ancient church of Iran.  You can read more information by clicking here to go to the Christian Solidarity Worldwide website...

Prayer for Youcef

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers and petitions concerning our brother, Youcef. May our brother know your presence with him as he is held in Lakan Prison in Rasht, Iran. Encourage, bless and maintain him as he seeks to trust in you!

Prayers for his family and church

Be also with his wife, Fatemah Pasindedah, his children and the group of believers under his charge! We pray against the decision of the Iranian authorities and ask that from your wellspring of mercy that a reprieve would be given and his life spared! For we ask this in the name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, whom we have fellowship with Youcef in prison. Amen.

Prayers for Iranian Christians

Now prayers for our Christian family in Iran. O Father, continue to embolden them with wisdom and courage. Lord Jesus, may their love of you, shine through their actions towards each other and their enemies, just as you commanded in the Written Word, the Bible. Holy Spirit, who indwells them, endow them with peace and strength as only you can give!

Help them to trust fully in you and be wise in their dealings with the authorities. Father, we ask these things in the name of your son, Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
