44:1 We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the days of old.

44:2 You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.

44:3 For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.

44:4 You are my King, God. Command victories for Jacob!

44:5 Through you, will we push down our adversaries. Through your name, will we tread them under who rise up against us.

44:6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

44:7 But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.

44:8 In God we have made our boast all day long, we will give thanks to your name forever.

Selah.

44:9 But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.

44:10 You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take spoil for themselves.

44:11 You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.

44:12 You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.

44:13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.

44:14 You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

44:15 All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,

44:16 At the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.

44:17 All this has come on us, yet have we not forgotten you, Neither have we been false to your covenant.

44:18 Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,

44:19 Though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.

44:20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;

44:21 won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.

44:22 Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.

44:23 Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.

44:24 Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?

44:25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.

44:26 Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.

  7. Richard Allen. Says:

“ Wow ” Dave, what a discovery – your Partake Ministries Web-site.! I was only thinking last week when I got another bill through the post from BT for the quarterly fees & charges for my Broadband connection that I just do not use it enough to justify the monthly cost. Well I haven’t used it hardly at all for the ten months that I’ve had it, because of my illness. But now my mate, I shall be making up for that having discovered your Web site. There is so much on it, I didn’t realise until now, I need to understand and find my way around everything, but I am so impressed with it all. All the time that it must take and has taken you to bring it all together. I shall be investigating it fully in the future. I listened to your entire sermon, Understanding the Kingdom of God. ( John 3: 1-18 ) reading as I listened. I did this at around 4 a.m. this morning!! Well done blue.! I am humbled by the posted comments concerning my voice recording of Psalm 44 that you have posted on your site, Oh’ Praise the Lord, He has been, and is, so good to me. I bless those that have taken the trouble to make comments and thank God for them all and you, in all the work that you do in his glory. It is because and through you, I feel my faith is becoming stronger and stronger each day. One of the hardest things for me to do has been let go of my “ old 60 years of self ” and totally trust in our God. I must fully learn to put myself in His hands, to learn to stop keep doing it “ My Way ”, I’m trying to change, but 60 years of independence is a long time. Oh’ I wish I had found and had what I have now, so long ago. My life would have been so different. I could have known our Jesus so much more, if I had not spent so long in the wilderness. But I trust that God, “ who let me be ” for 60 years, has had His very good reasons for doing so, what ever they may turn out to be. I have so much to learn and to catch up on, but I know that He will lead, guide and help me, because He loves me and you, whatever we are. Bless Him. I praise and glorify Him. My Christian love to you my friends, my brother’s and sister’s in Christ Jesus. God bless you all, Richard A.

  8. chris king Says:

    chris xx

  9. June Says:

Richard, God has truly blessed us by allowing us to pray for you and know that you are gaining strength in Faith, Word, Love, for our wonderful Saviour Lord Jesus. Keep reading and praising God… Oh by the way…. If you would, please pray for my eye sight. I had surgery on my left eye almost 3 years ago, but I am having difficult time reading more than 2 to 4 lines of text before my eyes loose control going back and forth on the page. God Bless you, June

  10. Richard Allen. Says:

Hi’ Chris, Praise the Lord for being lifted and saying so. Oh’ please God let us all be lifted more and more each day, higher and higher. To look forward to tomorrow for a greater love and understanding of Jesus and our fellow brother’s and sister’s. My thanks June for your kind words of encouragement. My prayer’s will certainly go up for you also. My Christian love to you and all humanity, in Christ Jesus. Be blessed, God bless, Richard A Post Script. I don’t think the above got submitted the first time, ( my machine went “off-line”) so I am sending it again……? I have also added my thanks to June in this second attempt…..!
